The Summer Youth Education Program is a one-week summer program for Orange County high school students between the ages of 15 and 18 who want to pursue careers in criminal justice or who have an interest in learning more about the criminal justice system. Students selected to participate in this program have the opportunity to tour law enforcement agencies, meet local officials, and learn what it is like to work in law enforcement.
SUMMER YOUTH EDUCATION CONFERENCE 2009: The ninth Annual Summer Youth Education Conference was held on August 3 - 7, 2009. We had 26 students participate in our week long program, introducing them to careers in criminal justice and educating them about local law enforcement and their respective roles in the criminal justice system. By the end of the week, they gained a better understanding of the path a criminal case takes after a crime is reported. All students who completed the program were awarded a certificate from our office.
