F.A.Q.
Q: I have seen the defense attorney representing the person who killed my friend on TV many times. How will it be possible for a prosecutor to prove her case against such an accomplished and high profile attorney?
Q: I am a witness on a case. Do I need to come to court each day?
Q: I have a loved one who has been murdered. Her killer is being prosecuted by your office. I am having trouble sleeping at night. Is there any counseling available to me?
Q: My husband’s killer is being prosecuted by your office. I am afraid to sit in court alone so close to him. Can you help?

Q: I have seen the defense attorney representing the person who killed my friend on TV many times. How will it be possible for a prosecutor to prove her case against such an accomplished and high profile attorney?
A: The deputy district attorneys assigned to the Homicide Unit are experienced professionals who have a great deal of trial experience in difficult cases. They form a team with the local police, their assigned investigator, paralegal, clerical and victim-witness advocate. Be assured that your case is in very good and competent hands.

Q: I am a witness on a case. Do I need to come to court each day?
A: No. If you call the number listed on the subpoena to be placed "on call", you will not have to come to court until needed.

Q: I have a loved one who has been murdered. Her killer is being prosecuted by your office. I am having trouble sleeping at night. Is there any counseling available to me?
A: Please contact a Victim-Witness Advocate and you will be assisted in getting the help you need.

Arrangements will be made to have an Advocate sit with you in court every step of the way.  There will also be security in court.
