Hernandez was charged with multiple crimes for harassing, following, and stalking his former girlfriend.  She tried to end the relationship only to find that he would not give up.  At various times he appeared at her residence and threatened to kill her and her family.  At one point, two men showed up at the residence and began shooting from outside, putting multiple lives in danger.  There were many threatening telephone calls.  The victim and her family lived in terror for years, always fearing death at the hands of Hernandez.  The prosecutor put together several incidents where the victim was followed, shot at, threatened, and otherwise terrorized, and took the defendant to trial. Hernandez was convicted of the above crimes and was sentenced to 30 years in state prison.
