Many parents and members of the community became alarmed when razor blades were being placed in playground where children would play by an unknown person. From April 27 to
June 4, 2002, there were nine different locations where this occurred. The defendant initiated the contact with the police under the guise of helping them solve the crime. The police caught the defendant placing blades at a park in Mission Viejo. She was initially given probation by the judge over the prosecutions objection. She thereafter violated the terms of her probation by possessing stacks of nails in her car and was sent to state prison.
